Samsung's new One UI 5.1 update brought battery problem
The new One UI update that Samsung has started to distribute came with a serious battery problem for some users.
Samsung started rolling out its latest One UI 5.1 interface to some of its high-end Android-based Galaxy phones last week. However, some people who have installed this update on their phones report that they have problems. These problems include fast battery drain.
As reported via Android Central, some of the users posted their experiences on Reddit.
Many say that the One UI 5.1 update somehow switches their phone's battery mode to Maximum performance mode.
That's why people who are having problems are advised to reset the phone's battery settings to lower usage modes as the easiest solution.
If this method doesn't work, there is another workaround to try.
A user says he spoke to a Samsung support representative to clear the phone's cache and data. But keep in mind that this option will also reset some other settings on the phones. For this method, Settings > Apps > Filter Button > Show System Apps > Samsung Keyboard > Storage > Clear Cache and Data.
No explanation has yet been given as to why the One UI 5.1 update changes a phone's battery settings, and there has been no official response from Samsung about the update issues.
